Coaches should consider playing their outfielders deeper than normal during the later innings of games they are winning. This makes it very unlikely for a hit to make it to the wall and therefore the opposition is forced to get three straight hits in order to score. Otherwise, a ball hit in the gap might score a runner that was on first.
